In my years of experience providing psychotherapy, I have found that many individuals have felt discouraged about starting therapy due to stigma or fear of being judged. I provide a safe and nurturing space for you to share your concerns. Feel free to contact me if you'd like me to answer questions about how this process would look like before making a decision. Remember, you are in control. You can start and end whenever you feel it is right! There is no judgement in this space.
  • How many sessions will I need until I start feeling better?
The number of sessions needed vary from person to person. Some individuals benefit from only a few sessions and some need more long-term therapy. I am a clinician who likes to discuss the progress periodically to provide you with honest feedback about how things are going.
  • What could I expect on my first visit?
This is a very good question. The first appointment with me is called a clinical intake where I would ask you questions about your presenting symptoms and history (this what therapists usually do on the first meeting). The aim of the clinical intake is to get a comprehensive view of what the presenting concerns are and to further identify the kind of services you are looking for. I am may refer you to other providers in the community if I believe that doing so would best suit your needs.
  • How could I pay for services?
I am currently providing out of network services. Self-pay options are available: credit/debit cards or cash payments.

Psychotherapy is a process that requires effort, dedication, and commitment. Therefore, consistency and frequency is key. Once a week sessions is typically the standard frequency. However, there may be cases where I may recommend twice a week or every other week depending on the needs of the individual. This is something I would discuss with you at the end of the visit.
  • Why do you use the word "psychotherapy"?"
I use psychotherapy and therapy interchangeably on my website to facilitate communication. Psychotherapy explains exactly the kind of work that I do - psychological therapy.
  • As a psychologist, do you prescribe medication?"
No, I do not have the license to prescribe. Psychiatrists are trained and are better suited to prescribe psychotropic medication.
